हरि सर्वोत्तम । वायु जीवोत्तम | श्री गुरुभ्यो नमः
कपि-कटक-धूरीणः कार्मुक-न्यस्त-बाणः
क्षपित-दितिज-सैन्यः क्षत्रियेषु-अग्र-गण्यः ।
जलधि-रचित-सेतुः जानकी-तोष-हेतुः
पथि पथि गुण-सान्द्रः पातु माम् राम-चन्द्रः ॥
Rama, Who is like the moon (राम-चन्द्रः):
the leader (धूरीणः) of the monkey (कपि) army (कटक) ;
Who is ready with arrows (बाणः) placed (न्यस्त) upon His bow (कार्मुक);
Who destroyed (क्षपित) the armies (सैन्यः) of the demons born to Diti (दितिज);
Who is regarded (गण्यः) as the foremost (अग्र) among warriors (क्षत्रियेषु) ;
by Whom the bridge (सेतुः) across the ocean (जलधि) was constructed (रचित) ;
Who is the cause (हेतुः) of the joy (तोष) of Jaanaki (Seetaa) (जानकी);
Who abounds (सान्द्रः) in all noble virtues (गुण);
may He protect (पातु) me (माम्) on every path (पथि पथि).
